For those with limited mobility or who cannot safely step into the bath then a bath lift is the answer, this will gently lower you into the water and into a reclining position and then gently take you back to the top of the bath.
An alternative to a bath lift is a bath seat that uses suction pads to stick to the bottom of the bath and comes in various heights of 6” 8” or 12”. This eliminates the need to pull yourself up from the bottom of the bath. An aid to help you into the bath would be a bath step which also comes in various heights.
With the aid of various rails around the bathroom and toilet area you can manoeuvre yourself into the bath safely. The other option would be a bath board that sits over the bath that you can sit on and swing your legs over and then move to a seat or stay seated on the board and have a shower.
You could have the option of taking your bath out and having a shower or wet room fitted which our team could do for you or you may already have a shower and find our showering aids very useful. There are shower chairs and stools to suit all sizes of cubicles, things to consider are whether you need a chair type with back and arms or a stool.
Some stools are folding so can be moved when other family members use the shower or if you prefer you could fix a seat to the wall of the shower which can be folded up against the wall and out of the way.
There are various small aids to help you with your bathing needs such as long handled sponges, toe washers and no water shampoo.
To save you slipping there are various sizes of bath and shower mats to suit your specific bathroom size.
